After a long 2011 wedding season, its always nice to take break and photograph a handful of the worlds best surfers tackle one of mother nature’s most amazing waves in the world. Its one reason why I love living in Hawaii. Surfing is by far best remedy for escaping the bad that life throws your way. This year the 2011 Billabong Pipeline Masters surf competition showcased some of the best surf we’ve seen hit the North Shore of Oahu in a long time. The past few contests definitely had its abundance of great surfers but the wave itself definitely didnt live up to its hype during the official waiting period. This year was definitely different. We got 15-20ft+ of clean surf that even the top professional surfers in the world admitted to being a little scared of.
