I know I know I’ve been slacking on the blog a little bit but I have good reasons…IM GETTING MARRIED IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS! It’s been pretty hectic planning and finalizing all the last details of our wedding. Between adding the final touches to our reception, coordinating with out-of-town family whose flying in, finalizing guest lists, and meeting with our vendors I would say this has been the craziest part of the whole wedding planning phase. I’ll probably have to write a How to plan a wedding on your own article once its all said and done. So I’ve got some AMAZING news for everyone: (No we’re not having a baby, stop it!)
Following Joanne’s Hale Koa wedding earlier this month I’ve received an email stating I had been accepted in to the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA)! This came as a huge surprise considering I had applied for membership a few months ago and initially thought my application had been rejected. Now I’m so thrilled to be in shadows of many great wedding photographers from around the world. Some of those include guys like Cliff Mauter and Ryan Brenizer whose work I’ve followed and been inspired by since the day I picked up a camera (Two of their pictures below…timeless!).
Being apart of a group that prizes itself on the excellence of wedding photojournalism gives me so much more motivation to uphold new these standards in Hawaii wedding photojournalism. Here’s a little insight on what the Wedding Photojournalist Association is all about:
